The minimum age to volunteer at Bridgepoint is 16 years old at the time you submit your application.
Transportation to and from volunteering is the responsibility of the volunteer. Funding is not provided for transportation.
No, volunteers are given free parking.
No, Bridgepoint does not cover any incurred costs to complete the medical form.
Yes, all volunteers are required to wear a uniform and photo ID badge while on duty. Uniform vests are purchased for $25.00 (non-refundable). Summer students must wear T-Shirts which are purchased for $15.00 (non-refundable).
We provide a variety of volunteering opportunities, please see the Volunteering Opportunities for more information. Volunteers are placed based on hospital needs, suitability, availability, and interest. While we try our best to place everyone by interest, please note that it is not a guarantee. Position descriptions are provided to volunteers prior to starting.
Volunteer shifts are Monday-Friday (morning, afternoon, and evening) and Saturday-Sunday (morning and afternoon).
All volunteers commit to a minimum of 60 hours of service. Any hours accumulated volunteering at Bridgepoint may be used towards your secondary school volunteer requirement.
No, we do not offer research and/or shadowing opportunities.
No, we do not offer any student placement opportunities. Please visit our Students section.
Please be aware that we do not offer specific volunteer roles that provide the opportunity to practice or gain experience within your specific profession nor do they include tasks that are performed by a licensed or regulated profession (physician, physiotherapist, nurse, lab technician, etc).
