Media Policy and Contacts
Bridgepoint Health respects the role of the media in informing the public about health care issues and news events. We will work cooperatively with the media to meet your needs and deadlines; however, our number one priority is the safety and privacy of our patients. We are committed to ensuring that our patients and their families are treated with the utmost respect and compassion at all times, by everyone.
Bridgepoint Health’s Corporate Communications and Community Relations Department is responsible for handling all media interviews and inquiries. Media representatives are required to contact the Corporate Communications and Community Relations Department directly. This allows us to protect the privacy of our patients and their families, and to ensure that information provided to the media is accurate, consistent and meets your deadline. The Corporate Communications and Community Relations Department will not provide patient condition information to the media without the express permission of the patient or their designate. Media interview requests to a patient can be made through the Corporate Communications and Community Relations Department.
To protect patient confidentiality and to avoid unintended disruptions to patient care and hospital operations, media representatives cannot interview staff, physicians, patients, families or enter patient care areas (including waiting rooms) in the hospital unless authorized and accompanied by a Bridgepoint Communications staff member. For reasons of safety and patient confidentiality, Security must remove media from the premises if they are unauthorized or unaccompanied.
