Community Master Plan

A comprehensive Community Master Plan was approved by the City of Toronto in 2006.

1) The Master Plan provides a roadmap for implementing the vision.
2) This plan outlines how the whole block will be redeveloped over time, reconnecting this important site with the surrounding urban fabric.

3) Integrates the new hospital with the historic Don Jail.
4) Establishes a grid of streets to connect the site to the neighbourhood.

5) Offers multiple pedestrian connections to Riverdale Park and a multi-purpose trail along the valley edge.
6) Creates a mix of uses to activate the streets.

7) Creates a new public park on Gerrard Street East.
8) Retains heritage buildings.
