Evidence Based Health Promotion in Clinical Settings
About Dr. Hanne Tonnesen
Hanne Tonnesen is a surgeon and since 2004 has also been the director of WHO Collaborating Centre for Evidence Based Health Promotion in Hospitals. From 2005 and onwards, Hanne has been the Head of Research for Clinical Health Promotion at Bispebjerg Hospital and the CEO, International Secretariat for Network of Health Promoting Hospitals under the WHO.
She has been published in over 72 scientific publications, 47 of which were original papers. In addition she has edited 5 medical textbooks and has authored 4 other textbooks.
From 2002 to 2003 Dr. Tonnesen sat on the Governance Board for the Alcohol Research Centre and was assigned on the Task Force on the “Standards and Indicators for Health Promotion in Hospitals.”
In 2003 she was appointed to the Scientific and Advisory Board of Misuse (Alcohol, Drug, Smoking, Doping and Gambling) and the Board of Rehabilitation in the Danish Medical Association, as well as the Danish National Board of Health.
An ardent educator, Dr. Tonnesen has taught both at the pre-graduate and postgraduate levels at various Universities in Denmark, including Copenhagen University where she has served as a mentor for medical students and students of public health science.
Currently she is a guest professor at Stavanger University Hospital and Bergen University in Norway. |
