Changes to smoking law to impact patients and visitors starting January 1, 2018

Posted on Friday January 05, 2018

Beginning on January 1, 2018, amendments to the existing legislation came into effect banning all smoking in any indoor and outdoor area of hospital property. Toronto Public Health Inspectors will be issuing fines of up to $5,000 for individuals breaking this law.

 What has changed?
Smoking anywhere on the property is strictly prohibited as of January 1, 2018. The property line is the city sidewalk. View a map outlining the property here.

Please treat our surrounding area respectfully when disposing of your cigarettes, when outside of our property line. There are separate fines for littering, which includes cigarette butts.
