Frances and Tim Price hope their generosity will inspire others to support Bridgepoint
Over the past year, Bridgepoint helped Frances Price get back to a normal life following surgery for a brain tumour.
Now Frances and her husband Tim are helping Bridgepoint. Their $1 million gift to the Life.Changes. campaign will support the construction of the new Bridgepoint Hospital. With this commitment, Frances and Tim join the many other donors who are helping Bridgepoint change people's lives. They hope it will inspire others to be generous as well.
"Bridgepoint is a wonderful facility that everyone may well need," says Frances.
Frances was admitted to Bridgepoint in February 2011. Paralysed on one side, she could not sit up or dress herself without help. During her time as an in-patient, and then as an out-patient, her therapists helped Frances relearn what she used to take for granted.
"It was marvellous. Every little thing was a step closer to independence," she says.
Now Frances is back at home permanently, and almost completely recovered. She recently toured the construction site of the new Bridgepoint Hospital, which opens in 2013.
From her experience at Bridgepoint, Frances could appreciate how the new hospital will provide more space and privacy for patients, as well as improved rehabilitation facilities such as the larger therapy pool.
"It's very impressive," says Frances. "I wish I could have postponed my condition so I could enjoy the new facility."
